Terms of Service

The rules that govern your use of Vertex. Plain English, no surprises.

1. Acceptance of terms

By installing or using Vertex on any device, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These Terms apply to all clients (iOS, macOS, Android, Linux, Windows, Gateway) and to the relay vertices and exit servers we operate.

2. Service description

Vertex is a privacy-focused VPN service. It establishes an end-to-end encrypted tunnel between your device and one of our exit servers, forwarded through a public relay vertex. Vertex is provided “as is” with no guarantees of uptime, throughput, or jurisdictional reachability.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Vertex to:

  • Distribute malware, ransomware, or command-and-control traffic for botnets.
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks, port scans against third parties, or unauthorized vulnerability research.
  • Distribute, generate, or store child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or other content illegal under the laws applicable to our exit infrastructure.
  • Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or otherwise abuse SMTP / messaging protocols.
  • Attempt to deanonymize other users of the service or interfere with the operation of relay vertices, exit servers, or other clients.
  • Resell access to the service without our written permission.

4. Service availability

Vertex is operated on a best-effort basis. We do not provide a service-level agreement (SLA). Relay vertices, exit servers, and the underlying network may experience downtime, throttling, or jurisdiction-imposed disruptions. We make reasonable efforts to maintain redundancy (multi-vertex fan-out, multiple exit nodes) but make no guarantees.

5. Account suspension

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate Section 3. We will, where practical, contact the account holder via any contact we have on file for them before terminating, but for ongoing abuse (active DDoS, malware C2) we may act immediately.

6. Intellectual property

The Vertex name, logo, and brand assets are our property. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our written permission.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

VERTEX IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF SECURITY VULNERABILITIES.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VERTEX AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

9. Disputes

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation by contacting support@vertices.ru. The Service is provided as-is without explicit choice of governing law; any formal disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction of residence.
